what I wore: coloured tights and a spotty dress

The more I get into this 'wear everything you own' thing, the more I'm enjoying it. I've spent a bit of time rummaging through my cupboard(s) and drawer(s), and have rediscovered loads of lovely little bits that I thought I'd either already sent to the charity shop, or had sold on eBay. It's a little bit like stumbling across an old friend in the pub - you're glad to see them, and can't begin to imagine why you haven't met up sooner.

I haven't worn this belt since before I was pregnant with Daisy - and I was pretty overjoyed to find it tangled up under some scarves (also not worn in absolutely yonks) at the bottom of a box. It's from Dead Mans Glory, a vintage shop in Portsmouth (sadly closed now, but they still sell online if you're interested), and I love everything about it, from the seventies-esque colours to the little pouch for loose change. It's adjustable too, which is great if you want to make it a bit bigger to put over a coat (not that I've done that - but I'm thinking now that I should...).

I added it to a spotty dress from eBay, a charity shop mustard cardi and some eBay chelsea boots, and came up with this little number:

I'm having a proper adventure in tights at the moment - truth be told, I actually find them quite irritating, but I just love the colours I've got lurking in the drawer. I've got some amazing mustard ones that I bought from H&M (also before Daisy was born, I think) that I've just never got round to wearing, so I might dig them out for the next clothes post.

So far, I'm enjoying being out of my comfort zone, but there have definitely been days where I've reached for my familiar jeans-and-jumper combo. Especially considering that despite it being officially 'Summertime', it's still pretty sub-zero here!

PS I realise that as an outfit post, there should be a gazillion photos of me, in a variety of poses, but if I'm honest - I'm crap at all that. It took twenty goes to get a single picture where I wasn't a) gurning b) blurred or c) cross eyed, so to get at least three photos, I'd pretty much need to block out a morning. And that, my friends, is never going to happen.

  3. Super cute outfit! That was my picture taking weekend. I had my sister take some pics of a couple outfits I bought this weekend and most of them I look totally crazy! I feel so awkward "posing" for pictures, haha. This is a great picture.

  5. One pic is all you need when you look this good. I'm really enjoying your outfit posts. I've been trying to haul myself out of my comfort zone too recently. I've also been after a spotty dress recently and have nabbed a vintage one in a blog sale this weekend for a bargain price - yay!
